Book Donation Guidelines
Help us empower young minds by donating books that inspire and educate. To ensure every child receives quality literature, we kindly ask donors to follow these standards for age-relevance, condition, and content.
Book Condition
We accept books in good to excellent condition. Please ensure pages are intact, free of heavy markings, and without significant water damage or odors.
Language Requirements
Most children in our network read in English or Malay. We also welcome books in Mandarin and other regional Asian languages that promote local literacy.
Safe Packaging
Secure books in sturdy boxes or moisture-proof bags. Group books by age level or genre where possible to help our volunteers process your kind donation faster.
Accepted Book Categories
Storybooks
Vibrant picture books and engaging storybooks for children aged 3 to 12. We look for high-interest titles that spark imagination and a love for storytelling.
Reference Materials
Up-to-date encyclopedias, atlases, and educational magazines for young learners. We prioritize materials that support research and general knowledge development.
Educational Textbooks
Modern textbooks covering major subjects like English, Mathematics, and Science. Only materials published within the last 5 years are accepted to ensure relevancy.
Dictionaries
English and bilingual dictionaries that assist children in expanding their vocabulary and improving their language proficiency across different literacy levels.
What We Cannot Accept
To ensure every donation provides value, please review the categories we are unable to process at this time.
Damaged Material
We cannot accept books with mold, water damage, torn pages, or excessive writing, as these are unsuitable for our readers.
Adult Literature
As our focus is on youth literacy, we do not distribute adult fiction, romance novels, or advanced academic materials.
Outdated Content
Old textbooks, encyclopedias, and technical manuals are often obsolete and do not align with our current mission.
Religious & Political
To remain inclusive, we avoid accepting books with heavy religious indoctrination or partisan political agendas.
Large Scale Donations
If you are donating over 100 books or represent an organization, please get in touch so we can coordinate the logistics of your contribution.
