Book Aid Asia is pleased and deeply grateful to announce the receipt of a generous contribution of 500 copies of the story book Growing Pains: Memoirs of a Witty Boy 2 from its publisher, SimeVille Sdn Bhd, on 10 January 2026.
This meaningful contribution marks another important milestone in our ongoing mission to cultivate a reading culture among children, particularly those from underserved and underprivileged communities across Malaysia. The arrival of these books has brought great excitement to our team, volunteers, and partner communities, as we prepare to distribute them to young readers who will greatly benefit from access to quality reading materials.
Growing Pains: Memoirs of a Witty Boy 2 is written by Harvard L. and Michael K.C., and presents a humorous and relatable collection of stories about childhood experiences, family life, school adventures, and the challenges of growing up. Through witty storytelling and engaging characters, the book encourages young readers to appreciate reading while reflecting on everyday life from a child’s perspective.
Interestingly, Harvard L. was only 12 years old when the book was written, making the publication even more remarkable and inspiring for young readers. His achievement demonstrates that creativity, imagination, and the passion for writing can begin at a very young age. The story behind the book itself serves as a positive inspiration for children to explore reading, writing, and expressing their ideas confidently.
Books such as these play an important role in encouraging children to read for pleasure while also helping them develop imagination, empathy, language skills, and confidence.
For many children in rural and low-income communities, access to books remains limited. Contributions like this therefore go beyond the value of the books themselves — they represent opportunities, inspiration, and hope for children to dream bigger and discover the joy of reading.
Book Aid Asia would like to record its sincere appreciation and gratitude to SimeVille Sdn Bhd for their generosity and support towards literacy development initiatives. Corporate contributions and partnerships are essential in helping us continue our work in reaching more children and communities throughout the country.
The books are currently being prepared for distribution through our community reading programmes, school outreach activities, and children literacy initiatives. We are confident that these books will bring smiles, laughter, and meaningful learning experiences to hundreds of young readers.
Schools, libraries, community organisations, children’s homes, and non-profit organisations that are interested in receiving copies of the books for educational or reading programmes are welcome to contact Book Aid Asia for further information and distribution arrangements. We encourage organisations working closely with children and youth communities to collaborate with us in promoting reading and literacy development.
At Book Aid Asia, we believe that every child deserves access to books regardless of background or location. Together with supportive organisations and caring individuals, we hope to continue building a stronger reading culture for future generations.
Thank you once again to SimeVille Sdn Bhd for making this possible.
